Welcome to the Kindred Project!
Simply put, we believe travel brings about compassion and understanding, and it is a guaranteed way to broaden your perspective. Immersion in other cultures makes it much harder to live naively and passively secluded within our own.
When travelers absorb an accurate image of the world, they become more educated citizens and more conscious consumers. This is particularly true for Americans and particularly important now. It is time to step beyond the resorts into the villages and past the picture books into the developing world.
The Kindred Project offers a new and unique way to do this.
Barriers to travel in developing countries and other off-the-beaten-path areas are numerous. However, our country has a built-in network of ambassadors--immigrants and first and second generation Americans--who, through links to family and community in their countries of origin, are uniquely capable of skirting these barriers and opening doors to the world.
The Kindred Project links ambassadors with small groups of intrepid travelers for an international travel experience that is exceptional by definition. Americans with still-thriving networks in their countries of origin share the beauty and reality of home with fellow Americans, who gain the cultural insight and awareness that can only come from immersion abroad.
